About Me:

Although born in Minnesota, I grew up in Cary, North Carolina, and attended schools in Wake County, including Lufkin Road Middle School and Athens Drive High School.  It was while I was in middle school that I started to become interested in studying history, and after having a few really influential teachers, I decided to pursue an education in teaching.  Now, I am a graduate of Meredith College and teaching at Northeast Middle School.

Enrolling at Meredith College, I was accepted into the Teaching Fellows Program where I took part in volunteer activities, professional seminars, and enriching activities.  I was also a part of Impact Raleigh, a volunteer group that works to build relationships in the community and impact Raleigh in a positive way.  This will be my third year at Northeast Middle School.

One of my greatest passions is traveling, and after my second year at Meredith College, I was accepted into a service program in Vietnam, where I worked in an orphanage and learned about the education system in a developing country.  My passion for traveling is something that I bring to my classroom in order to bring the world to life.
